<image:title>Home - About Sophie Hornick, MS, CCLS Hello, I’m Sophie Hornick. I am a certified child life specialist and have been working in the field of child life for over seven years. I received my Bachelors in Child and Family Studies from Syracuse University and hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. I have had a variety of experience in working with children in school, healthcare and nonprofit settings. Before starting Ready, Set, Cope!, I worked as a hospital-based child life specialist in both the Emergency Department and multiple surgical departments at New York Presbyterian Weill/Cornell. After many years of working in New York City I moved back to the area where I grew up. I am excited to be expanding my reach to make a positive impact in my own community.</image:title>

      <image:title>About - Sophie Hornick, MS, CCLS</image:title>
<image:caption>As a 5-year-old, I asked for a white board for my birthday to teach my imaginary students. From there, my passion for working with kids only grew and I found myself being drawn to the helping professions. While I thought I wanted to teach, I was introduced to the field of Child Life by one of my college mentors and I immediately knew that this was what I was meant to be doing. Throughout my career, I have been inspired by the strength of so many families. The ability to build resilience continues to amaze me. One of my favorite parts of this job is to watch a child realize their own capacity to cope and conquer something that may have seemed impossible. It is a privilege and an honor to be let into a family’s story in what may be some of their most vulnerable moments. I believe that prioritizing the human aspect of healthcare is essential in empowering families and providing quality, family-centered and compassionate care. Thank you for choosing to learn more about Ready, Set, Cope!</image:caption>
